This Kildare girl's misunderstanding of the Irish Census form is absolutely brilliant

IRELAND'S Census took place on Sunday night - but what should have been a simple thing was confusing for some.

Laura Pender was reading the first page of the Census form in her family home in Kildare but struggled with one section.

The sample occupation on the cover page read "Hotel receptionist" - and while it looked questionable split over two lines, Laura's brain did not compute it whatsoever.

She spent quite a while guessing whether it was something to do with a pianist or penis before the penny finally dropped.

Her sister Georgina was on hand to film the entire thing, much to Laura's embarrassment.

The video was uploaded to Facebook yesterday and has already been viewed more than 60,000 times.

But Laura was not the only one who found the Irish Census form difficult to comprehend.

Questions about religion and the Irish language also caused people to pause for thought before putting pen to paper.

These people took to Twitter to share their experiences...

The next British Census takes place in 2021 - so it remains to be seen whether this much craic can be emulated here...
