Irish Post columnist Dougie Costello triumphs at Cheltenham

Irish Post columnist Dougie Costello has scored a superb victory at Cheltenham.

33-1 shot Countrywide Flame came from nowhere in a dramatic race for the JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham at 1.30pm.

There were several horses in with chances at the final fence, but Costello and Countrywide Flame jumped it best to hit the front and power on up the hill to the finish.

Dougie said: “He’s not very big, but he’s tough. Horses like this are brilliant.”

Irish hope Hisaabaat (20-1) finished second, with 5-1 favourite Grumeti in third. Dodging Bullets was just behind in fourth.
