Dublin City Council gives go-ahead for mega Rolling Stones Croke Park gig

THE ROLLING STONES have been officially confirmed to play Croke Park in May after objections from the Croke Park Residents’ Association threatened the event.

Dublin City Council has granted a licence today to the May 17th concert at the home of GAA, subject to 16 conditions.

These include safety, fire and noise plans being adhered to, the agreed sum being paid to gardai and a strict curfew of 11 pm.

The greatest rock and roll band of all time will bring their ‘No Filter’ tour to the Irish capital, with tickets going on sale Friday morning at 9 am.

The Croke Park Resident’s Association strongly opposed the gig, as it surpasses the limit of three gigs set by An Bord Pleanala.

The organisation, made up of residents of the area surrounding the stadium, complained that they lose over 30 weekends a year in relation to living near Croke Park. This is much more than for any other stadia in Europe.

The other gigs at Croke Park this summer include two Taylor Swift dates and Michael Buble on Saturday 7th July.
